Moderator, conferences, presenter,
panel discussions & citizen dialogue
In November 2014, I did my first professional assignment as a conference. It was Norrbotten's Football Gala and I was equipped with everything from glitter pants to hockey uniform. Since then, a lot has happened (luckily ?!)!
By using my journalistic background as a presenter and producer, you can expect a professional and well-thought-out results. I am incredibly careful in my preparations with everything from research and script to implementation, it creates security between us and allows me to be flexible and present on stage.
I am driven by new thinking and would like to contribute as early as possible before an event. Sometimes it can be a small creative detail that makes a conference better, sometimes it can mean that you think completely new in the approach from start to finish. Everything to make the experience as good as possible for the participants. Time is incredibly expensive today and I want as many people as possible to feel that the time they spend on an event should be well invested.
Examples of assignments that you can hire me for are conferences, events, panel discussions, debates, author discussions, citizen dialogue, interviews, inaugurations and launches. I take assignments in Swedish and English. In the wake of covid-19, digital events have also become more common, so regardless of whether you are planning a meeting "IRL" or digital, you are welcome to contact me!
As I said, a lot has happened since that first assignment in 2014. Here are some examples of assignments that I have had the opportunity to work with over the years:
The King's Foundation Young Leadership seminar in Luleå.
25 years of Barents Cooperation, an international conference commissioned by the Ministry for Foreign Affairs.
Forum for future property use, commissioned by Energikontor Norr.
Digital breakfast events on behalf of Luleå Business Region.
Panel discussion in Almedalen in collaboration with Passionista on behalf of Vinnova and the Norrbotten Region.
Luleå Business Breakfast (recurring assignments).
Barents Forest Forum, Umeå, on behalf of SLU and the Swedish Forest Agency (in English).
Book and Picture fair in Luleå. Moderator and author talks.
Author talk with Clara Henry.
Hostess of Luleå Business Gala.
Why book a moderator?
Booking a professional moderator to a conference, an event, a panel discussion or a digital event has many advantages. To quote the book "Profession: moderator" by Karin Klingenstierna and Åsa Lindell:
"An event is an investment where the organizer has a specific purpose and an expected result. We and our colleagues are needed when the organizer wants to hand over responsibility for the event to a professional, who can take the program forward on stage. That the moderator is also perceived as neutral by the audience has great value. It gives credibility to both clients and events that the tricky questions are asked by someone without their own agenda."
A really good moderator relieves the organizer, both in the planning before an event and during the event itself. It can be about helping with the dynamics and variety of the program, preparing for exciting interviews, interacting naturally with the audience and creating a clear drive forward that retains energy and interest.
My experience also says that it is very nice for the organizer to "only" be the organizer when it is time for the event to start. There are always things that need to be fixed, and to then have a safe and professional moderator who takes care of the lecturers and manages the program on stage is incredibly valuable.
